Our church and school fill an entire city block at the corner of Main and Stafford Streets in downtown Plymouth, WI. Our sanctuary was built well over 100 years ago and is a classic combination of traditional Protestant ornamentation, including beautiful stained glass windows, and many modern touches as well. Our school building, the core of which was built in the 1950's, has been regularly expanded and remodeled into a building that we are proud to call home.

  • God

WE BELIEVE and teach that there is one True God who has revealed Himself through the Holy Bible as Triune. One God in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This God created all things, visible and invisible, and He continues to sustain them.

  • The Bible

WE BELIEVE and teach that the Holy Scriptures, as contained in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, are the only inerrant and inspired Word of God. They are without error, not only in things spiritual and moral, but also in matters historical, geographical, and scientific. These Scriptures are to be our guide in all matters of faith and life.

  • Creation

WE BELIEVE and teach that, in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, by His Word, out of nothing, in six days. We believe this doctrine of creation to be foundational to other doctrines of Scripture including the atoning work of Christ.

  • Sin

WE BELIEVE and teach that God created the world perfect and that sin and death came into the world through the transgression of Adam and Eve. We also believe and teach that, because of Adam’s sin, all people are born sinful (Psalm 51:5) and are by nature enemies of God (Romans 5:10).

  • Our Savior

WE BELIEVE and teach that there is one True God who has revealed Himself through the Holy Bible as Triune. One God in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This God created all things, visible and invisible, and He continues to sustain them.

  • Doctrine

WE BELIEVE and teach that justification by faith in Christ is the central doctrine of the Bible. All of Scripture must be understood in the light of this one doctrine and all other doctrines must be brought in line with it. In agreement with this central truth, we teach the three “solas” of the Reformation - Sola Fide (faith alone), Sola Gratia (grace alone), and Sola Scriptura (Scripture alone).

  • The Holy Spirit

WE BELIEVE and teach that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Holy Trinity, dwells in the hearts of all true believers in Jesus Christ. It is the Holy Spirit who motivates and enables Christians to lead godly lives out of love for the Savior and in thankfulness for His blessings.

  • The Means of Grace

WE BELIEVE and teach that God offers and conveys the merits purchased by Christ by His death on the cross only through the external means of grace ordained by Him. These means of grace are the Gospel in every form and the Sacraments of Holy Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The Word of the Gospel applies the grace of God, works faith, and regenerates man (Romans 10:17). Baptism is applied for the forgiveness of sins and is a washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38 and Titus 3:5). Likewise, the true body and blood of Christ are distributed in the Lord’s Supper for the forgiveness of sins (Luke 22:19-20 and Matthew 26:26-28).

  • The Church

WE BELIEVE and teach that there is one, Holy, Christian and Apostolic Church. This Church is the spiritual unity of all believers in Jesus, which includes people from all races, cultures, and times.

  • The End of The World

WE BELIEVE and teach that Jesus Christ will come again, not secretly, but openly (Revelation 1:7). At this time, He will judge the living and the dead (Acts 10:42). The dead will be resurrected (Revelation 20:12– 13), believers to everlasting life in heaven (John 3:16–18) and all who have not believed in Jesus Christ to everlasting damnation. (Matthew 25:46).

  • In Summary

WE BELIEVE and teach the doctrines of the Lutheran faith as found in the Holy Bible, as expressed by the reformers in the Book of Concord of 1580, and as commonly confessed throughout the history of the Christian Church in the three Ecumenical Creeds – Apostles, Nicene, and Athanasian Creed.

  • Public school open enrollment has a bigger impact than Parental Choice Programs.

Today, 53,188 Wisconsin students – nearly 6 percent — are using public school choice, otherwise known as “open enrollment.” Families of all incomes are eligible. The enrollment in this program has a far greater impact on school districts than Parental Choice Programs.

  • Only low-income families can use Parental Choice Programs.

There are 27,619 students in Milwaukee and another 4,641 students around the state using the Parental Choice Programs.

  • The Special Needs Scholarship Program is only available to students who have been turned away from open enrollment by a public school district.

  • Private schools are needed in Wisconsin because they save taxpayers money.

If all the private schools closed, state and local taxes would have to increase by $1 billion annually to educate all of those children in the public system, according to an analysis by the non-partisan Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance.

  • Private schools can’t replace public education because there aren’t enough private schools to do so and because schools are hard to start.

The vast majority of private schools in Wisconsin enroll kindergarteners through eighth graders. These students graduate on to attend public high schools. For that reason, the private schools have long supported a robust public education system, and work closely with public schools to help students transition between systems.

  • Private schools in Wisconsin are covered by hundreds of state and federal laws regulating every aspect of school life.

Most are accredited, which is the same system used in higher education to ensure quality. Schools participating in the Parental Choice Programs have even more regulations to follow. And, these private schools also have to keep the tuition paying parents happy because if they don’t, the tuition disappears and schools close.

  • The Parental Choice Programs are Constitutional.

Both the Wisconsin Supreme Court and the U.S. Supreme Court long-ago ruled that private school voucher programs are constitutional because the government plays no role in the selection of the school. The courts ruled that private school voucher programs meet the state’s secular interest of educating children. If a voucher is used to attend a religious school, it’s because of a parental decision — not government fiat.

  • The point of the money is to educate children — not sustain systems, public or private, for the sake of adults.
